Kenya Feel Me was actually started in 2014. The idea came to me one day as I was sitting in my apartment. At first it was just a way to document my personal growth, and what started out as an online diary turned into something much greater.
When I first got the idea I was doing small inspirational posts just to motivate people (myself included) to follow their dreams. My senior year in college kind of put things in perspective for me as I took a class where we were required to keep a blog and post to it two times a week. That’s where I learned the importance of consistency, and fell in love with blogging all over again.
As I matured I wanted my blog to mature with me as well. Insert “The Come Up.” I wanted to take my brand to the next level, and that’s where the idea for The Come Up as well as this entire website was born.
So, no I’m not some rich and famous woman sitting behind a computer screen passing out googled advice on how to live your life. I’m merely a young, black girl from Montgomery, Alabama who just wants to inspire others to live out their dreams. The advice I’m offering comes from real life situations where I’ve had to learn on my own. I just want you to avoid all the landmines I’ve had to step on.
And what do I wish to gain from all of this? My hope is that this blog becomes a place where you can laugh, cry, express yourself, and grow. I want to show every little small town girl out there that it is possible to live out your dreams. Nothing is impossible, the word itself says “I’m possible.” The beautiful thing about dreaming is that the dream never truly stops. Keep climbing, keep grinding, and always stay true to who you are.
Until next time…
